Dr. Nurhan Ezik,VH
Dr. Nurhan Ezik is the owner and medical director of the Englewood Veterinary Center, located in Englewood, NJ. Dr. Ezik has had a deep love of animals since childhood, and has devoted his life to their care and well being.
Dr. Ezik is a graduate of I.U. Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Istanbul. He is a member of AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and NJVMA (New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association). He has lectured in diverse areas such as canine/feline vaccinations, heartworm disease, heartworm prevention, parasite prevention and public health, etc.
A strong believer of community outreach, Dr. Ezik utilizes his center to put on Pet Events to provide not only a fun environment where the local pet community can gather, but to provide information on a variety of animal health related subjects as well. All pet events also includes variety of affordable raffles with proceeds to benefit local shelter S.T.A.R.T II of Englewood, NJ ; pet rescue group PetResQ, Inc. of Tenafly, NJ and N.J.S.P.C.A. Dr. Ezik supports both the shelter and rescue group by treating sick/injured pets so that they can ultimately find loving, forever homes. He is available to speak at local schools, libraries, senior centers on animal health, safety, etc.
Dr. Ezik, his wife Nina, their children Vicken and Decile, and their German Shepherd "Sammy" live in New York. A lover of all forms of art, Dr. Ezik enjoys expressionist art, classical music, cooking, and sculpting.
John Parks, DVM, Diplomate, ACVS
Dr. John Parks has been caring for pets at Englewood Veterinary Center since 2011. He attended Iowa State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture in 1966. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Parks attended Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1970. Between 1970 and 1974, he completed an internship and a surgical residency at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston. A specialist in veterinary surgery, in 1979, Dr. Parks obtained Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association, Dr. Parks has published a number of articles in the American Animal Hospital Association Journal.
Dr. Parks is a surgery consultant at Englewood Veterinary Center.
Judie Collins
Before joining our team at Englewood Veterinary Center as Practice Manager, Judie spent 8 years in Early Childhood Education. She decided to change career paths and entered the medical field earning certifications in Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy and Healthcare Claims Management. While combining a passion for education and a lifelong love of animals, Judie is able to bring her knowledge and diversity together to add a dynamic quality to our client and patient care.
At home Judie is devoted to her family, especially her three young adult children. They share their home with their beloved cat Shadow, who was rescued as a kitten from a farm in Kansas. Judie’s interests include studying Philosophy, History, and Science.
Jaya Kochenburger
Jaya joined the Englewood Veterinary Center staff in October of 2010. She has worked in the veterinary field for over 3 years and is a graduate of Drew University majoring in Biology with minors in Biochemistry and Psychology. She wants to get a masters degree in Biology and attend Veterinary School. In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her dog “Lady”, playing with her cat “Foo-Dee-Doo” and cooking.
Courtney Clarke
Courtney joined the Englewood Veterinary Center staff in May of 2011. She is currently attending school for her Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Technology at Mercy College in New York. Courtney has had a strong love for animals since she was young and thoroughly enjoys living out her occupational dream. In her spare time she relaxes with family, friends, and her two pets, a beagle named Sadie and a tabby cat named Josie.
Jenna Acker
Jenna has been a member of the Englewood Veterinary Center staff since June 2009, she has over seven years of experience in working as a veterinary technician. She is also a Registered Nurse since May 2010. At home, she spends most of her time with her black cat Sparrow, who she adopted at three months of age, and has loved unconditionally ever since.
Johanna Ballesteros
Johanna joined the Englewood Veterinary Center on June of 2010. She began as a volunteer to gain knowledge and experience in the veterinary field. Johanna currently attends Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ, where she is working towards her bachelor’s in science degree.
She has an infinite love toward all type of animals, and most of all, she enjoy having the opportunity to share her job time with them. Her biggest dream was to be part of a veterinary center, and Dr. Ezik gave her the opportunity to begin fulfilling her goals. She enjoys taking Peluche, her 7 year old mini-toy poodle to the park, and seeing him interact with other dogs is her biggest pleasure. Peluche, was given to Johanna when she was only 13 years old, which underlines the importance he signifies to her, and her loving mother. Furthermore, she spends her valuable weekends working at a restaurant in Tenafly. Eventually, Johanna’s goal is to continue her studies, and pursue her doctorate degree in Veterinarian Medicine. She won’t stop until she is able to satisfy her desire of helping animals in need.
Ashleigh Carlton
Ashleigh currently attends Rutgers University where she is working toward both a degree in Pre-Veterinary Studies and in Primatology. She joined the staff at Englewood Veterinary Center in July of 2010 to gain valuable experience, perspective, and knowledge in the Veterinary field. She loves animals of all kinds, and views and treats them like people who simply cannot talk. She is working toward fluency in French, and in her spare time she draws, sews, and paints. She lives with her cat, Shadow, and her betta, Gary.
